Hi, I’m Susie! 💕🐾

I’m 3 years old, and I’m a beautiful Russian Yorkshire Terrier. For much of my life, I was part of a backyard breeding operation. When the breeder went out of business, everything changed for me. I suddenly found myself in need of a safe place to land—and thankfully, Max’s Ark came to my rescue. ❤️

I’m still learning what it means to simply be a dog. A dog who gets to relax. A dog who gets cuddles. A dog who gets to discover that hands can be gentle and that people can be trusted.

And there is one very important part of my story: my sister Lucy. 💕 We are bonded, and Lucy is my comfort and my familiar face. We have been through so much together, and having her beside me makes this big new world feel a little less scary. We are hoping to find a forever family who will understand how special our bond is and let us continue our journey together.

I can be a little shy and introverted at first, so I need someone who will be patient with me and let me come out of my shell at my own pace. But once I feel safe, you’ll discover my affectionate and snuggly side. I’m gentle, patient, and a little goofy too! And if you happen to have treats nearby… well, I’m definitely food-motivated! 😋

I’m doing well with other dogs and I’m good with cats, so I’d love a home where I can continue learning from my people and feeling safe. Because of my past, I’m looking for an experienced adopter who understands that little dogs like me may need time, patience, and plenty of reassurance.

I’m already spayed and up to date on my vaccinations, and now I’m just waiting for the most important part of my journey…

I may have started my life being valued for what I could produce, but I’m ready to spend the rest of it being loved simply for who I am.

I’m Susie. I’m resilient. I’m sweet. I’m a little shy. And I’m ready to be someone’s cherished little girl.
