At Max’s Ark, every rescue is family. Some of our dogs, after spending time in our care, have shown us that they are not suited for adoption. These are our long-term fosters, also known as fospice dogs, and they have found their forever home right here with us.
All of these rescues have endured trauma, neglect, or abandonment, and while they may be physically healthy, the stress of adoption can take a serious toll on their well-being. The transition to a new home, even with the most loving adopter, can be overwhelming—sometimes making them so sick that it’s simply not worth the risk.
Rather than putting them through that uncertainty, we have welcomed them as permanent residents of Max’s Ark, ensuring they receive the love, care, and stability they deserve for the rest of their days.
These incredible souls are not just rescues—they are family. They spend their golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and familiar faces. Your support helps us continue to provide them with the medical care, nutritious food, and warm beds they need to live out their lives with dignity and happiness.
