Many of our rescues come from situations of severe neglect, leading to significant health issues that require immediate and ongoing attention.
Dental Care: Our Biggest Expense
One of the most substantial costs we face is dental care. Basic procedures, like cleaning and extractions, are essential for a dog’s health but can easily exceed $1,000. For example, Jazmin’s dental care alone cost $1,200, and when combined with her spay, microchip, and vaccinations, her total vet bill reached $1,800. These expenses are critical to ensure her well-being and that of every dog in our care.

Routine veterinary care, which includes spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and microchipping, has also become increasingly expensive. Spay/neuter procedures now cost around $480 per dog, microchipping adds another $60, and necessary vaccinations can total $150.
